What are landing pages and what use are they?

Landing pages are very effective, at least if you use them properly. But what is a good landing page? And how do you make this?

A landing page is a web page specifically designed to convert visitors. This means that the page is designed to prompt visitors to take a specific action, such as filling out a form, purchasing a product, or subscribing to a newsletter.

Landing pages are usually targeted at specific audiences, and are designed to meet the needs and wants of that audience. They often include a clear call to action, such as “Click here to buy now” or “Fill out this form to learn more.”

We also use landing pages ourselves, of course, and I can say that creating a good landing page takes quite a bit of time and effort. You need to think about what information you want to include, how you want to set up the page to convert visitors, and how you want to optimize the page for search engines. Because ultimately there must be traffic (visitors) on the website, but these visitors also have to do something.

Tips for creating good landing pages

  1. Have a clear objective: Before you start creating your landing page, it's important to determine what you want to achieve with the page. For example, do you want visitors to sign up for your newsletter, or do you want them to buy a product? By having a clear goal, you can better set up the page to convert visitors.
  2. Use attractive headlines: Headlines are one of the first things visitors notice when they land on your landing page. Make sure you use headlines that are attractive, clear, and that grab visitors' attention.
  3. Use clear and compelling copy: Make sure your landing page clearly explains what you offer and why visitors should buy or request it. Use specific examples and testimonials to reinforce your message.
  4. Take advantage of offers and discounts: If you can offer visitors something extra, such as a discount or a free trial, this can entice them to convert.
  5. Use clear calls to action: Make sure your landing page has clear calls to action, such as “Click here to buy now” or “Fill out this form to learn more.” These buttons or links should be clearly visible and easy to use.
  6. Use social proof: If other people have tried your product or service and liked the results, you can use this to convince visitors to convert too. For example, use testimonials or reviews on your landing page.
  7. Optimize for search engines: If your landing page wants to be found by search engines, it is important to ensure that you use the right keywords and that your page is optimized for search engines. This can help drive more visitors to your landing page.

Still, it's worth spending time creating a good landing page, because a good landing page can help your company generate more leads and make more sales. If you have a business and haven't created landing pages yet, I encourage you to think about it. You'll be surprised at what a good landing page can do for your business.
